Information is weighted by the kind of evidence and accountability behind it. The preferred order is:
- Official wildlife agencies and wildlife hospitals for public triage, legal requirements and transfer instructions.
- Professional wildlife-rehabilitation bodies such as IWRC/NWRA for standards, ethics, housing concepts and professional practice.
- Veterinary sources with named authors for captive-health and species-specific husbandry.
- Peer-reviewed literature and zoo/natural-history sources for species biology, behavior and nutrition.
- Established rehabilitators and long-running practical resources for field experience, used as supporting material rather than the sole authority for a dangerous procedure.
