ROGUE DIVER · HELLDIVERS 2 · BETA

Rogue
Diver

Rogue Diver turns Helldivers 2 into a long-form roguelike challenge where progression, gear, Stars, perks and losses carry forward from operation to operation. Every run is built around earning your arsenal, surviving escalating difficulty and adapting when valuable gear is lost.

PROJECT OVERVIEW

A full campaign built around adaptation

Rogue Diver adds a persistent challenge layer around normal Helldivers 2 missions without modifying the game itself.

CORE RUN LOOP

Complete operations, earn resources, expand your arsenal and survive what the run takes away.

A Rogue Diver run progresses through escalating difficulties and operations. Mission results feed into Stars and other progression systems, completed operations open Arsenal Drafts and Store opportunities, and perks can reshape the rules of later operations. Death can carry real consequences through Gear Attrition, forcing the run to continue with a changed inventory instead of resetting after every mission.

DEPLOY→EARN→DRAFT→ADAPT→ADVANCE
01D1–D10 Progression

Climb from early single-mission operations into longer, harder late-run operations.

02Arsenal Drafts

Completed operations create chances to earn new equipment from difficulty-scaled tier pools.

03Star Economy

Mission rewards feed a persistent Store economy used to strengthen and repair the run.

04Gear Attrition

Eligible combat gear can be destroyed on death, changing what remains available for the run.

RUN PROGRESSION

Difficulty becomes the campaign

The run is structured as a climb rather than a collection of disconnected missions.

D1

Difficulty Ladder

Progress from Difficulty 1 through Difficulty 10, with the run tracking the current difficulty, operation and mission instead of starting fresh each session.

OPS

Operation Structure

Early difficulties use shorter operations while later difficulties expand to multi-mission operations, creating more opportunities for rewards and more ways for a run to go wrong.

★

Mission Stars

Mission performance and run rewards feed the Star economy used by the Store and progression systems, giving successful operations value beyond simply reaching the next difficulty.

END

Long-Form Runs

The standard climb reaches the final Difficulty 10 operation, with the system designed to support continued challenge play rather than forcing every campaign into a short session.

LIV

Lives & Deaths

Lives, deaths and confirmed mission outcomes remain part of the persistent run state so failure has consequences beyond a single deployment.

RUL

Current Rules

The interface keeps the active run rules and current restrictions visible so the player can see what is affecting the next mission before deploying.

ARSENAL & ECONOMY

Your loadout has to be earned

Rogue Diver separates owned gear from gear that can still appear in future acquisition systems.

ARSENAL DRAFTS

Operations can expand the run one choice at a time.

Arsenal Drafts use equipment tiers ranging from F through S and difficulty-scaled odds so stronger gear becomes more realistic as the campaign climbs. Draft and Store eligibility are tracked separately, and a short item cooldown reduces immediate repeats while still allowing destroyed or unowned gear to return to the acquisition pool.

01

Tiered Draft Pools. F, E, D, C, B, A and S tiers create a progression curve instead of treating every item as equally likely.

02

Store Access. Stars can be spent on gear and run resources when the Store opens during the campaign.

03

Starting Modes. Primary, Secondary and Stratagem starts can be configured as distinct starting paths rather than stacking every advantage together.

04

Booster Support. Boosters can participate in the run economy and loadout rules while respecting squad-level duplicate restrictions.

05

Shared Item Settings. Account-wide item preferences control which catalog items are available across Rogue Diver, SEAF-LT, ILM, and Hardcore.

RISK SYSTEMS

The run can take things back

Progression is balanced by systems that can permanently change the current campaign.

01ACTIVE

Gear Attrition

On a confirmed death, one eligible active combat item can be destroyed. Inventory-backed gear is removed and the affected slot is locked for the rest of that mission.

02ACTIVE

Destroyed Gear Feedback

When destruction occurs, Rogue Diver shows the player exactly what was lost so the consequence is clear before the run continues.

03ACTIVE

Perks & Downfalls

Perks can improve the run, alter Store behavior, change restrictions or create new advantages, while downfall effects can impose strong multi-operation penalties.

04ACTIVE

High-Risk Effects

The strongest benefits can carry serious drawbacks such as item loss, slot locks, life pressure or forced equipment restrictions, keeping late-run power from becoming automatic.

RUN SAVING

Your campaign stays with you

Rogue Diver saves the active run locally first, with optional account backup and portable JSON tools for players who want another copy of their progress.

  1. 01
    Local autosave

Progression, inventory, loadout state and other run data are kept in the browser automatically.

  2. 02
    Save to Account

Signed-in players can explicitly back up the current run to their TheSQRLs Account.

  3. 03
    Restore or delete

Account saves can be restored or removed through the web interface, with confirmation before replacing local progress.

  4. 04
    JSON export & import

Run data can also be exported for backup and imported back into Rogue Diver when needed.

PROJECT FAQ

Common project details

Does Rogue Diver modify Helldivers 2?

No. Rogue Diver is an external challenge and progression system. It tracks the run around normal Helldivers 2 gameplay.

Does it require a download?

No. Rogue Diver is web-based and runs directly from TheSQRLs.com in a modern browser.

Is an account required?

No. Local saving works without an account. A TheSQRLs Account is only required for optional Account Cloud Save features.

What happens when gear is destroyed?

The eligible item is removed from the current inventory and can become available to earn again through the run's acquisition systems.

How do I control which gear is available?

Use Item Settings. Those preferences are account-wide and are combined with Rogue Diver's automatic run, Draft, Store, destruction, and eligibility rules.

Is v0.1.0 a finished release?

It is an active beta build. The project is playable now, but systems can continue to be refined as beta testing progresses.
